WELLBEING SUPPORT PROVEN TO HELP
"From my perspective as the intake officer and having that initial interaction with highly emotional and distressed clients, this program would greatly compliment the services already offered by RBS; allowing financial counsellors to concentrate on finances and not the emotional overload of the client. There is a gap in assistance being provided, being getting clients in that right mindset to make often hard financial decisions, and this program fills it exceptionally well.Â

Program Support Officer - Rural Business Support

"Our rural clients are faced with many business risks, many of these are outside of their control which overtime or suddenly can lead to financial difficulty and business viability concerns. This can impact significantly on our client's emotional wellbeing and in many cases their ability to clearly see a way forward. Often when these clients reach out, they are impacted by trauma and often find it difficult to engage and importantly make decisions.
They need help to clear their heads, to reset, and move past the "decision paralysis" that often impedes engagement and moving forward with the financial counselling process.Â
An in-house and seamless transfer between the emotional/wellbeing needs of clients and linking with the financial counselling needs of our clients alleviates the pressure and time constraints of financial counsellors and, separates the emotions for financial decision-making. Wellbeing officers assigned to the task of dealing with these emotional and wellbeing needs, demonstrate well this can be achieved. I endorse the wellbeing officer initiative.

"An excellent program. Allows a referral to be made to a trusted person who understands rural issues and concerns that may be faced by farmers. It is a process that a farmer can have some confidence in... It provides initial support and can assist in breaking down barriers."
